Pete’s Super Natural Ice Cream
Pete's Super Natural creates beautiful, small-batch ice cream that is all-natural. The ice cream has been described as “the best in Joburg”, “to die for”, and “by far the best artisanal ice cream in Jozi”.
The ice cream is sold at Oaklands Fruit in Oaklands, Jacksons Real Food Market in Bryanston, Impala Fruit in Craighall Park, Farm Table in Linden, Braeside Butcher in Greenside, The Roastery in Rocky Ridge Muldersdrift, The Leopard and 44 Stanley in Milpark and Food Farm in Honeydew to name a few.
Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream
Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream seems like a household name in Joburg and it all started with an ice cream machine as a birthday gift. Paul started making one litre a day. Milk chocolate with swirls of Nutella and chunks of Oreo was an early experiment. Their ice cream is art with carefully selected ingredients that bring excellence into every batch of ice cream.
Their flavours include Peppermint Crisp Tart, Birthday Cake, The Perfect Matcha as well as healthy, kosher and sorbet options. They have five stores throughout Joburg where you can get your delicious ice cream fix.
The Knickerbocker Ice Cream Company
The Knickerbocker Ice Cream Company is South Africa’s first true pop-up ice cream parlour. The Knickerbocker pop-up parlour serves 10 flavours of artisan gelato, sorbet and Bulgarian frozen yoghurt (all natural ingredients), real dairy soft serve ice cream with a choice of ripples, a wide range of ice cream sundaes, waffles and milkshakes. They also have a range of dairy-free or sugar-free ice creams.
They have an ice cream tuk-tuk and a smaller gazebo style as well as a vintage ice cream cart, ideal for smaller occasions. They also have a fixed ice cream and pancake parlour in The Stables Village Market in Broadacres where they sell their ice cream and sorbet in family-sized tubs.
Gelato is just ice cream that has levelled up! Trieste Café’s traditional Italian-style ice cream is made from natural ingredients and natural flavours. Their gelato is home-made according to their 100-year old family recipe using only the freshest full cream milk and cream, they also use no eggs or animal gelatine in their sorbetto or gelato.
Their sorbetto is made from fruit pulp or fruit juice and sugars and is lactose and fat-free.
