Multilingual guided township tours
Tours to Soweto in Multi-languages :
The first Spanish tour will take place on Wednesday 30 June from 09h00.
The Portuguese tour will be on Sunday the 4th / Monday 5th of July.
French and German tours to Soweto will be on the 8th and 9th of July.
The tour to Soweto includes:
- Transfer from Rosebank to Soweto in a (safe, accredited) minibus taxi
- Tour of Soweto starts at Chris Hani Baragwaneth – the largest hospital in the world
- Visit to Regina Mundi – a famous church in Soweto that hid and protected many Apartheid activists and was stormed by police several times
- Visit to Hector Pieterson museum – the museum commemorating the children who died in the June 16th student uprising
- Visit to Nelson Mandela’s house – where Nelson Mandela lived before being sent to prison
- Lunch in Vilikasi street – the only street in the world to boast two Nobel Peace Prize laureats, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu
- Visit to the Orlando Towers and a ride in the lifts to the top of the towers for the best 360° view of Soweto – Bungee jumping optional
- Transfer back to Rosebank by minibus taxi
The tour costs R800 / person or R1500 / family (2 adults and 2 children 16 and under) and includes transport, a bilingual guide, entrance to all museums/venues and lunch.
Minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 people per tour.
